Town Board

The Town Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the town, and all are elected by the people. It has charge of all town affairs not given by statute to another body, officer or employee. For example, certain town government powers are exercised by the electors of the town by means of annual and special town meetings.

Town board action, like that of other local governmental bodies, can be taken only at properly noticed meetings. The number of supervisors needed to make a quorum for a town board is three on a four or five-member board. The town chairperson is a supervisor and is counted in determining whether a quorum exists.

All Town Board meetings are posted and all minutes of all meetings are kept in a book at Town Hall. Town Board meeting minutes are posted on the website when approved and in final form.
